Job Opportunity: Financial Management Specialist at the Punjab Agriculture Department Full Time

.Punjab’s Agriculture Department is looking for a Financial Management Specialist. This is one of the positions in the Chief Minister’s Punjab Green Tractor Program submitted for the financial year of 2024-25 on contract basis.

Position Summary:

Position Title: Financial Management Specialist

Grade/Pay Scale: Project Pay Scale 09

Total Vacancies: 1

Maximum Age Limit:  50 years.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or any related fields. Applicants who have relevant qualifications such as a CPA or a CFA will be given priority .
• Professional Experience:   A minimum of 8 years of work experience in the field of financial management.

Key Skills:

• Through understanding of the principles and functions of financial management, which include budgeting, forecasting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Awareness of approaches for subsidy and agriculture financing.
• Ability to analyze different scenarios/ situations and provide appropriate judgments in business situations.
• Ability to utilize accounting software and tools including but not limited to QuickBooks, SAP as well as MS Excel.
• Good communication skills (oral and written) for articulating financial Information in a coherent manner.
• Capacity to organize and deal with complexity of time and various assignments while working towards deadlines.
• Willing to adhere to ethical values, openness, and accountability.
• Good resourcefulness and initiative in approaching and solving problems.

Important Details for Applicants

• Age Requirement: Relaxation beyond the age limit specified is not allowed regarding age limits.
•  Equivalence of Qualifications: Applicants possessing degrees from other countries or requiring equivalence qualification are required to submit an equivalency certificate issued by the HEC or the attachment to the recognized authority.
• Nature of Contract: This is a specific project based contractual position which is not subject to permanent appointment. The contract shall remain in force up to 30 June 2025.
• Project Duration Impact: In case the duration of the project is changed, the duration of contract will be amended.
• Selection Procedure: The recruitment will follow the policy, procedures and requirements as stated in the approved eligibility and selection criteria.

Selection process:

• The notice outlining the names of the candidates who have been short-listed will be placed on the Notice Board three days prior to the date of the interview. Only those candidates who have been short-listed will attend the interviews (no TA/DA shall be provided).
• Results of the evaluation would also appear on Notice Board and in the Official website.

• The selected candidate will be bound exclusively for the period of the project only and will have no other rights to any other benefits apart from those contained in the contract.
• This position does not carry pension benefits nor the right to permanent employment within the particular department.
